- Killion now works on phones. Dashboard, Current Finances, Budget, Virtual Scenarios, and Backtesting are laid out for small screens, so you no longer need a laptop to use the app.
- A compact top bar on phones puts the essentials within reach: open navigation, switch views, run projections or backtests, open settings, and talk to Killion AI without digging through secondary menus.
- On Current Finances, Assets and Liabilities switch from a dropdown in that top bar. On Budget, the same pattern covers Budget and Cash Flow. Strategy and agent lenses on Backtesting and Virtual Scenarios live there too when you have more than one to compare.
- Projection, backtest, and market charts are easier to read on a narrow screen. Year labels thin out so they do not crowd, and extra chrome like chart section titles is hidden until you have room for it.
- The daily net worth change heatmap opens on the most recent days first, so today’s move is visible without scrolling. Tap or hover tooltips stay fully on screen even for cells near the edge.
- Chart hover details across the app stay inside the plot near the edges of the screen, so tips no longer hang off the side of a phone.
- Fixed Expenses now pick up every open liability from Current Finances automatically, so you can plan the payment without linking each one by hand. Manual fixed lines stay as they are.
- Budget rows share one consistent field style. Fixed expenses use a single amount field; flexible and non-monthly keep budget versus actual; Savings and Investments put the asset picker on the main row like Income.
- Collapsed budget categories line up cleanly: titles, totals, and remaining amounts share the same columns instead of drifting when you fold every section.
- Focusing a single asset class on the market returns chart draws that class’s path again. Previously the axis could update without showing a line.
Changelog.
Everything we ship, in one running log.
- Introducing what-if scenarios: ask a question about your plan without changing it. Build a what-if from independent switches like retiring earlier, a different withdrawal rule, faster lifestyle creep, a longer horizon, or a market shock, and combine as many as you want in a single question.
- What-ifs stay tied to your real plan. Each one saves only what you changed, so when a new month of budget data lands, every what-if moves with your plan instead of quietly going stale.
- Compare plans side by side. Pin up to four plans and every chart shows them together. When two runs share the same market draws, Killion reports the difference world by world, so you learn how often a change actually helps rather than comparing two summary numbers.
- Backtesting now runs on its own once your portfolio has loaded, so results are waiting when you open the tab. It steps back as soon as you change a setting or run it yourself.
- Budgeting now runs on manual entry. You enter your cash and bank balances and update them whenever you like, while brokerage and crypto accounts keep connecting automatically through SnapTrade. Automatic bank linking is paused while we move to a new provider.
- Killion is much easier to use with a keyboard. A Skip to main content link now starts every page, dialogs keep focus inside them while they are open, and the import screens read correctly with a screen reader.
- Killion now tells you when your connection drops instead of quietly failing.
- Introducing the Killion partner program. Creators can earn 20% to 30% of every payment their referrals make for a full year, with a dashboard for referrals, earnings, and payouts. See the partner page for the full terms.
- New articles on sequence-of-returns risk, fee drag, and how strategies compare, plus clearer takeaways at the top of every post.
- Refunds now follow the same 14-day window on every plan, monthly and annual alike.
- Introducing withdrawal strategies: Killion now simulates how you spend in retirement, not just how you invest. Pick a well-known rule like the classic 4% rule, guardrails that adjust with the market, or a fixed percentage of your balance, and your projections follow it.
- You can now follow your retirement paycheck over time in the new Withdrawals card, and open any single world to see exactly how its withdrawals played out.
- Withdrawal strategies come to Backtesting too: now you can test how each spending rule would have held up in every real market since 1928, not just in simulation.
- We upgraded the simulation engine behind it all. Withdrawals now respond to inflation the way they do in real life, and plans can protect a minimum level of essential spending.
- Every chart in Virtual Scenarios can now switch between future dollars and today’s dollars.
- Your income and spending curves now sync live from your Budget by default, including bank-linked cash flow, and keep your essential spending as a floor in retirement. Switch either curve to Manual whenever you want to shape it by hand.
- Projection settings got a full redesign: a cleaner two-pane panel with Simulation, Market Shock, Income, and Spending sections, compact controls, and trajectory editors that preview what inflation does to your plan using bands from your last run.
- Killion AI now sees your complete financial picture when you ask, can answer with charts right in the chat, and proposes changes as cards you review before anything is applied.
- Net worth history and the day-change heatmap stay continuous even when you don’t open the app for a day. Your chart keeps filling in for you.
- Dashboard net worth and historical snapshots stay in sync, so the number you see today matches the history behind it.
- New public Demo: explore Virtual Scenarios with a sample household, no account required.
- Projection and backtest charts are improved: log scale is available on every path view (including individual worlds), with Linear or Log when you want a closer look.
- Chart hover details are clearer on long-horizon views, including when a path runs out of money.
- Sign-in and the Updates pages work more smoothly. Captcha retries and the Changelog tab behave more reliably.
- Marketing pages are updated: walkthrough, product visuals, and site links feel more consistent.
- The account panel in your Profile tab is now fully interactive. Change your email or password right there, and jump straight to your subscription. Previously these rows were display-only.
- Deleting your account now cancels your subscription automatically at the same time. As a safeguard, if that cancellation can’t be completed we keep your account and delete nothing, so you’re never left paying for an account that no longer exists.
- The subscription page now knows whether you’re billed monthly or yearly: your current plan is marked correctly for your billing period, and you can switch between monthly and yearly from the billing portal.
- Fixed the close button on the subscription page overlapping the Killion AI chat panel.
- Refreshed the Profile tab to match the rest of the app, and added an activity summary with your active days, current streak, and total hours.
- The Backtesting tab now remembers your latest results instead of recalculating them every time. Reopening the tab is instant, with no loading spinner, as long as your inputs haven’t changed.
- Results are saved on your device so they survive a refresh and load quickly next visit; if you’re a subscriber, they also sync across your devices.
- Backtests automatically recompute whenever your portfolio or settings change, so what you see is always up to date.
- Refreshed the asset allocation chart on your dashboard. Category colors are now consistent everywhere in the app, hovering a slice highlights the matching holding in the breakdown beside it, and the center updates to whatever you’re pointing at.
- Reworked the Current Finances lists so your assets and liabilities read the same way. Click any holding to view its details or edit it, and deleting now lives inside the edit panel to keep the list clean.
- Fixed a formatting issue where small holdings and gains showed an extra decimal (for example, $5.916), which could be misread as thousands. Amounts now display standard cents.
- Tidied the dashboard holdings breakdown by removing an empty column and giving each figure more room.
- Introduced Backtesting, a new tab that runs your portfolio through every real market start year since 1928, so you can see how often a plan like yours would have lasted a full retirement on actual history, not just simulation.
- Compare strategies on the same history: your current mix, 100% stocks, 60/40, and a conservative 30/70 are all tested against identical start years and withdrawals, with a survival rate for each.
- Explore every historical “world”. Browse the results year by year and open any single start year to see its full path, deepest drawdowns, and annual returns.
- Projection and backtest charts now use a logarithmic scale by default, so decades of compounding read as a clear line instead of looking flat in the early years.
- Faster page loads, especially on mobile, from streamlining how fonts and pages are delivered.
- Fixed an issue where some subscribers couldn’t open the billing portal to manage or cancel their subscription.
- Your plan now updates immediately when a subscription is canceled, so your account status always stays accurate.
- Launched our Blog: long-form writing on retirement, portfolio projection, and personal finance, alongside this Changelog.
- Fixed precious metals (like gold) being valued at their purchase price instead of the current market price on your dashboard, which understated your net worth.
- Your dashboard net worth now updates with live market prices, so it matches what you see on the Current Finances tab.
- Your net worth history now includes connected brokerage and bank balances. Previously these were left out of the chart.
- Precious metal prices now keep their last known value if our market-data provider is temporarily unavailable, instead of reverting to outdated defaults.
